Plan work on a timeline
Turn a project's tasks into a visual roadmap — swim lanes, draggable bars, and milestones, with no separate roadmapping tool.
-
1
Open Timelines for a project
Open a project and click Timelines (there's a Timelines button on the project dashboard). Each project has its own timelines area for roadmaps, sprints, and milestones.
-
2
Create a timeline
Click New Timeline, give it a name, and choose Team (shared with the project) or Private. Each project can have several — say a public roadmap and a personal sprint plan.
-
3
Add swim lanes
Click Add Lane to create named rows like Design or Engineering. Click a lane's name to rename it, or its color icon to give it an accent color.
-
4
Drop tasks onto the timeline
Open the task panel (the ☰ icon), then drag any project task onto a lane to place it. Bar colors follow the task's priority — or its custom status color if one is set.
-
5
Move, resize, and add milestones
Drag a bar to shift its dates, drag its edge to resize, and use the ‹ › arrows (or Today) to scroll the range. Add freeform milestones or deadlines with Add Custom Item.

Add tasks and move around the Kanban board
Create tasks, drag them across columns to update status, and edit everything from a quick-view popup — without ever leaving the board.
